Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is resigning from the board of the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image, which organises the annual Mumbai film festival. Kashyap is among those caught in the #MeToo controversy after his former business partner Vikash Bahl, with whom he ran Phantom Films, was accused of harassing an ex-employee.

“In the light of the current events, I have decided to step back from my duties as a board member from MAMI until the shadow of doubt of our alleged complicitness in silence and not doing anything about it, is cleared,” Kashyap said on social networking site Twitter.
