Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal on Saturday alleged that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had no control on the government with bureaucracy unbridled and police top brass virtually having a free run.
Addressing the party’s political conference at Talwandi Sabo, Sukhbir said: “On one hand, the bureaucracy is calling the shots and on the other, there is intense bickering in the police top brass. There is no control of the CM on civil or police administration.” He said people could not expect anything from the government as their CM did not even have time to listen to his own state party chief and MLAs.
“During the SAD-BJP regime, Badal sahib used to be among people to lend an ear to their grievances, but now people are clueless on whom to approach,” he alleged. He also sought dismissal of Local Bodies Minister Navjot Sidhu in the road rage case. He said this is for the first time that a government has sought conviction of its own minister in the apex court.
Earlier, former minister Bikram Majithia fired salvo at Finance Minister Manpreet Badal and his brother-in-law Jaijeet Singh Johal alias Jojo. Dubbing Manpreet as “duplicate Badal”, he said the much-hyped debt waiver and “Ghar Ghar Rozgar” schemes are mere eyewash.
