Amid widespread outrage against the brutal assault on a Sikh auto rickshaw driver by the Delhi Police, leaders of different political parties have sought dismissal of the erring cops and registration of an attempt-to-murder case against them.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal said he had asked the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to file a complaint in the matter.

He urged Home minister Amit Shah to take a strict action against the police personnel responsible for brutal attack on innocent Sikhs by dismissing them from service and registering an attempt-to-murder case against them.

Sukhbir said, “The Delhi cops behaved like animals by brutally assaulting an old Sikh man and his son in front of Mukherjee Nagar police station. The old man was beaten up and dragged on the road despite pleas by his son. Later, the teenager was also beaten up mercilessly.”
