(UNI) Days after Chief Minister Amarinder Singh divested him of the Local Development department, Punjab Minister Navajot Singh Sidhu met Congress president Rahul Gandhi and apprised him of the 'situation'.
"Met the Congress President, handed him my letter, apprised him of the situation", Mr Sidhu tweeted with a photograph of Mr Gandhi along with party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and senior leader Ahmed Patel. According to sources, the cricketer-turned politician was camping in the National Capital since Friday to get an appointment with Mr Gandhi, after the Chief Minister divested his key portfolio.
Instead of Local Development, Tourism and Culture, the Chief Minister had allocated less important Power and New and Renewable Energy Source department to Mr Sidhu. Mr Sidhu, however, did not assume office and chose to apprise the central leadership about the 'situation'.
