Leader of Punjabi Ekta Party Sukhpal Khaira termed the Justice Zora Singh Commission a fraudulent commission, which had failed to name the role of the political parties and dera supporters in the Bargari and Behbal Kalan desecration and firing incidents.
Khaira also presented Gora Singh, granthi of Gurdwara Burj Jawahar Singh, and Gurmukh Singh, a resident of Bargari, to the Press, alleging that the duo had been subjected to third-degree torture during the course of the investigations of the Justice Zora Singh Commission.
Gora Singh said at least 15 people from his village had been tortured during the ongoing Baragri desecration incident investigations and one of them had also lost his mental balance.
Terming the Zora Singh Commssion report a farce, which had failed to show the involvement of the dera or any political party, Khaira said, "With Justice (retd) Zora Singh's statements yesterday and with the key MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party present with him, it is clear the AAP is siding with those who want to impede justice to innocent persons continuously subjected to tortured in the name of investigation. The Punjabi Ekta Party shall be taking up the cases of Gora Singh, Gurmukh Singh and the 15 people tortured to the proper authority or court of justice," Khaira said.
